Punctuation marks for e-mail or URL spelling

Usually, we'll find people sharing websites URL's or emails accounts, in those cases, we must write the signs by their names, let's see how:

  • Dot (.)
  • At (@)
  • Slash (/)
  • Hyphen, Dash (-)
  • Colon (:)
  • Underscore (_)
  • Backslash (\)

Usage examples.

If the person says: "You can submit that information through www.united.com/refund", we must transcribe:

  • You can submit that information through W W W dot United dot com slash refund.

If the person gives an email address, for example: "The support email is live_support@yahoo.com.mx", we must transcribe:

  • The support email is live underscore support at Yahoo dot com dot M X.

Remember: Companies' names always start with a capital letter.
