I have a retention on my PayPal account, can you help me?

It is normal for your payment to be withheld if your PayPal account is not verified.

Don’t worry, PayPal retentions are normal, PayPal will request more information to know the reasons why you receive a certain payment. If you have received a payment from Atexto through PayPal and it has been retained, it is likely that PayPal will give you a choice between:

  • Payment by product (physical).
  • Payment by service (digital).

You must select payment by service (digital) since, as a collaborator in the WorkHub, you provide us with your services as a transcriber. Do not choose "product", as you will be asked for a tracking code, which will not exist.

In certain cases, you may need to verify your account. We recommend that you follow the instructions provided by PayPal so that your funds are released as soon as possible. Here are some things you’ll need:

  • An electricity or phone bill that is in your name and has your address.
  • A valid form of identification.
  • A brief explanation of the transaction in question.

We recommend that you let them know that you are an independent contractor at atexto.com and email workhub@atexto.com if they have any questions.

Unfortunately, we cannot cancel a payment that has been sent to a valid PayPal email address. You will receive the amount as soon as PayPal verifies your identity. In the meantime, you can create another PayPal account with a different email address, although there’s a good chance the same thing will happen as with the previous account.
